Dusk

Dusk, 2026. Mixed Media Installation. 600x600x300 cm

Dusk explores metamorphosis as a delicate process of transformation between life and death. Set within a space of uncertainty and obscured visibility, the work reflects on how change often unfolds gradually, sensed before it is fully seen or understood.

Moths, both living and dead, function as symbols and material, reflecting cycles of change marked by decay, disorientation, and quiet collapse. At the centre of the installation, a dress acts as the trace of a human body, suggesting absence, shedding, or transition. From beneath it, roots spread through the space with a force that feels both generative and invasive, revealing transformation not as simple renewal, but as something that overtakes and consumes.

Suspended hybrid pupae merge human and insect forms into uncanny bodies caught in states of becoming. Blurring distinctions between species, human and nature, beauty and decay, the installation inhabits a threshold where identity remains unresolved.

Dusk proposes transformation as an ongoing condition: a metamorphosis that occurs in obscurity, in spaces we cannot fully see, yet can still sense unfolding around us.
