Rooted
I paint my clay reliefs to look like metal to create a tension between what the material is and what it appears to be. This transformation reflects my interest in liminality, duality, and impermanence. Soft clay pretending to be enduring metal mirrors the fragile illusions we construct around nature, life, and death. The surface becomes a space between authenticity and artifice, permanence and decay.
